In this video, I am going to be showing you how to use Whatsapp on any android phone. So without any more carrying around, let's get into it.
first - download WhatsApp from the google play store
second - open up WhatsApp after it has downloaded.
thirdly - enter your mobile number and WhatsApp will send you a verification code through a text message.
fourthly - enter your name as you want other people to see you by. So for example mine would be Amerie.
Ok, so that's the first 4 steps you need to do when you first download WhatsApp.
Before I continue I want to let you viewers know if you didn't know already is that WhatsApp is free in the sense that it does not use your credit on your phone it just uses the internet. So if you have free wifi at home or at work then it's free for you to chat, send pictures, call or even video call. If you get a certain amount of internet free with your monthly contract then that's what WhatsApp will use. It doesn't use a great deal of internet so even if you have a low amount of internet per month you should still be fine to talk and text.
When you first open WhatsApp you will see a few things that may stick out on your screen. The first being chats.
Chats is where you will see all the messages you have sent to your friends. They will show up as a message thread so it means any texts I send to my wife will all be in one message. This makes it easier to go back and read your messages.
The next thing you will probably notice is status. This is basically a place for you to broadcast certain messages. This could be to all your WhatsApp contacts or specific contacts. So for example, if I got a new tattoo, and I took a picture of it, then maybe I would only want to broadcast this to certain people on WhatsApp.
The last thing you should notice on the main screen of WhatsApp is calls. This is just basically your call log for WhatsApp. You can see if you missed calls, your last received calls and the last calls you would have made.
When you start a chat with someone you will notice a new screen with a few more things on it that you may have not seen before. You'll see a box saying type a message. This is basically where you would input your message to your WhatsApp contact and begin chatting.
On the left-hand side of where it says Type a message, you will notice a smiley face. This is where you will be able to add these smileys to your chat. You will have a good range of smileys to chose between.
To the right of the box where it says Type a message, you will notice a paper clip. This is used if you want to send someone a picture or video.
The picture beside the paper clip is to bring you straight into your camera and allow you to take a picture and send it directly to the contact you are chatting with.
Lastly, you will notice a green picture with a microphone in it. This will allow you to record a voice note and send it.
If you want to send a message to a particular contact all you have to do is hit the green icon with a little speech-bubble in it on the chat screen of your WhatsApp app.
With the latest update for WhatsApp you know have the option to add a gif. for anyone that does not know what a gif is, it's just basically an animated picture that lasts about 2 to 3 seconds. You can use the gif option when you are chatting with someone. You will notice when you hit the smiley face to bring up your emoticons then you will see a gif option at the bottom of your screen. Tap on this and search for a gif. So for example you could type a crying gif and it would bring you up animated pictures of crying images.
So that's a brief introduction on how to use Whatsapp on android. If you found this video helpful in any way what so ever, then be sure to smash that like button.
