Muddy battlefield conditions will prove difficult for armoured vehicle movement and could be advantageous to the defending Ukrainians, a former tank commander says.

Speaking to Forces News in the video above, former British Army tank commander Justin Crump says muddy ground conditions "offer some advantages" to the defending Ukrainian troops.

Warmer weather in Ukraine is creating ground conditions not suited to wheeled vehicles and conditions are expected to get even worse in the coming weeks, making things harder for both Ukrainian and Russian forces.
