V for Vendetta is a film from the DC universe that tackles the story of antihero, V, who seeks to get revenge for the mistreatment of him and other people at the hands of a corrupt and fascistic regime in the United Kingdom. Throughout the film, viewers are exposed to the ideas of revolution, power, oppression, and the human struggle.
V for Vendetta can be classified as a dystopian world, and it makes sense. However, V for Vendetta is also a perfect example of dystopian done right. Despite YA dystopian novels being riddled with poor writing and an over-reliance on romantic subplots to advance the story, V for Vendetta properly built its world from the ground up and created for the viewer an immersive experience into the life of this dystopian nightmare.
