❄ ️ Episode 16 – How We Use the AT/ST to Keep Dupes Cool For Good | Oxygen Not Included Base Game
After more than 700 cycles, our ice biome cooling system has finally run its course. It kept our crops, critters, and duplicants safe for an impressively long time—but now it’s time to upgrade to a fully active cooling system.
We begin by upgrading our natural gas power plant, which was originally built pre-oil and pre-steel. While reworking it, we also give it a more polished, aesthetically integrated design that better fits into the growing base.
Next, we install an AT/ST coolant system in the attic of our duplicant apartments. This setup uses our existing polluted water coolant loop, but now actively cools it with power while a steam turbine recaptures the excess heat and turns it back into power.
