If anything kills this game it's the complete lack of context.
Like, in DOOM, the point was simple. Dead demons are good demons, so killing them all is a thing. But here, I'm not even sure if the protagonist is sane, or even alive, and it feels so gamey without the benefits of being arcadey.
It's also way to drab without doing anything with its drabness.
