707Stock Android phones are a rarity these days. Most Android smartphones come with a customized OEM interfaces, such as TouchWiz or Sense UI. Generally, the best way to get your hands on stock Android is by way of a Nexus 4 or custom ROMs on popular devices.
But HTC's newest device, the First, isn't only a so-called Facebook phone. Officially, it comes with Facebook Home pre-installed. However, you can disable Facebook Home, and beneath is an otherwise untouched version of Android 4.1.2.
As far as specifications go, it's a pretty balanced fight, though it's easy to argue the Nexus 4 still has the ultimate advantage. There are pretty major trade-offs, though. The Nexus 4 has no LTE, yet it has a quad-core chipset, wireless charging double the RAM, a (marginally) better camera and rapid updates directly from Google. The First has LTE, a slightly better -- albeit smaller -- display and a more solid build.
