Hey guys! I'm Tatiana Diana with Clevver Movies and I have the lastest on Le Miz!
Universal has a new musical adaptation on its hands, and two guys we love are set to star!
Tom Hooper, set to direct the flick, is currently in talks with both Hugh Jackman and Paul Bettany to play lead roles.
If all goes well, Hooper has his eye on Jackman to play the role of Jean Valjean, and Bettany to play Javert. Lucky for Hooper, a bit of time in Jackman's schedule has freed up following the pushback of The Wolverine sequel.
Jackman has already received a tony for his show stopping performance in "The Boy From OZ," so we're certain this role will be cake...although this will be the first time he performs on the big screen!
Cameron Mackintosh, who produced the musical will also be producing the flick along side Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. The script which is based on the Victor Hugo book has already been written by Bill Nicholson, known for writing The Gladiator .
