450My guide to Humankind's combat system - and why it's awesome! This video is about how Humankind Game makes combat fun, interesting and varried - finally. The historical 4X strategy game genre hasn't seen a lot of innovation in its combat systems over the last few years, dare I say even decades! Humankind applies some of Amplitude Studio's mechanics from their other development experience (Endless Legend and Endless Space) to the Civilization experience and it is beautiful.
Armies move freely across the map, while battles are strategically played out over three rounds within a district territory of the map. Combat is engaging and interesting, supported by beautiful animations and a geographically diverse map, Humankind's combat system keeps me wanting more. Look out, neighbors!
