158Humankind versus Civilization 6. The timeless Sid Meier's series that has given gamers more than 25 years of enjoyment - vs - The latest title from the feisty Amplitude Studios! The hype train has been chuggin along for Humankind for close to 2 years now and when it finally hit full release on August 17, the 4X gaming community was ALL-IN!
As I expected, since playing the game on Twitch almost every day since release, I was asked countless times how this game compares to Civ 6. Many of you are familiar with my journey with Civilization 6; from my wildly popular Basics Tutorial Series that has passed more than 400K views, to the epic Wonder Starts series; from playing in the Civ World Cup as a member of ZoC, to broadcasting games in the Championship, including The Season 4 Finals of the CWC. So it stood to reason that once I started playing Amplitude Studios' latest creation, people would want to know my thoughts on how the game plays in comparison to the Sid Meier's classic.
This video isn't meant to act as a comprehensive list of every single difference between the two games, rather a discussion about some of the key ways that Humankind has taken its own path in the 4X genre, and in many ways revolutionized how we now think of 4X gameplay.
