Game contain 3 endings:

1. If the "girl" drink the substance more then the "old man" then she kills him. I got this one.
2. Otherwise vice-versa.
3. If they didn't drink the substance at all, then ending will be good, but several fights will be tougher and, well, more boring.

Didn't count a number of drinking places, but, I guess, the number is odd, so there is no option to get the same number by switching heroes after each sip.

Anyhow, plot isn't the best part in case of this title anyway, so I didn't care much about a bunch of not particularly smart mercenaries. On top of they decide to grab shady request without questions and usually care about gold only, but decide to play a heroes for a while, in, based on the what happens around in overall, world of endless wars of different fractions, fallen heroes and so on.

So, save some, but take their place. Or destroy the strange skull and survive. "Good" or "bad" ending is a bit open question here.
