Yeah Hunters can still solo VC with scorpid pet even after the nerfs, sorry wish I got this out sooner. You can easily farm for your Cape of the Brotherhood which I think is BIS for this phase, and to be honest its pretty easy to obtain.

Main point is that you want to jump to the wheel which will evade lock the adds once you pull them with multi-shot. Then you can just mend pet and let the poison do its job. Afterwards you will just wait a second and the adds will de-spawn.
