G’day guys, Mennace here with the first part of my Hurtworld Survival Guide. In this video I am going to share with you the basics to help you live in the harsh world of Deimansland in this hardcore survival FPS.
As you spawn into the map you find yourself with nothing but a pair of undies. From here head inland and begin collecting recourses by pressing E over the single stones and large sticks found on the ground. These materials will combine to make your first set of primitive tools. There are several tools instrumental to the progression in this game, they are The Flint Hatchet, the Stone Pick Axe, the Campfire, the Spear, the workbench, the arrows and the bow.
To craft basic tools and weapons press the tab key, this will open your inventory, then click on the handcraft button on the bottom right. Here another menu will open, to start off we are going to craft a Flint Hatchet, to do so you are required to have 5 Wood Logs and 5 Flint in your inventory. Hit the craft button, after a short period of time your new hatchet will appear in your hot bar or inventory.
This same process applies for the following items; the stone pick axe, the campfire, a set of 5 arrows, the campfire, the spear and workbench. To craft all of these items you will need 62 Wood Logs, 5 stone and 25 flint.
Once you have crafted the spear, it is time to get hunting. This weapon has 2 modes, the first default mode allows the player to make a quick stabbing motion by left clicking, this is handy for fighting players and creatures. Press the R key and this will toggle into the second mode where a player can throw the spear. Use the throw to hunt down Shigi, the small rabbit cross goat like animals found among the grass. When hunting these be careful not to get too close as they spook easily and can run very fast. Upon killing a Shigi they have a chance to drop animal tendons, these are used to make a bow. To do this access the workbench, convert the tendon into weak string then use that with 50 wood to create a bow.
As you travel throughout the game your character will become cold and hungry. To combat the cold at night use a campfire, this can burn either wood or coal, but be careful, using coal will generate a high temperature and can cause heatstroke. You can also cook any meat that you have harvested from the animals around the map for sustenance or find the Owrong fruit growing among the hills.
