After the band (at that time still under the name Shitshifter) released two very punky, grindy and furious albums, HVRT anno 2020 – now as a quartet with two guitars - is harder, darker, faster, more melodic and more demanding than ever before. On their new album "The Grief That Feeds The Night" – a true live recording - the band is creating an ultra-fat and deep wall-of-HM-2-guitar-sound, while exploring the extremes of heavyness and melodic harmonies. If you love Dismember and Entombed, can’t resist a grin while listening to Trap Them or Rotten Sound, celebrate Nidingr’s last record (rightfully so!), consider Vallenfyre the better Paradise Lost and listen to God Seed or Mayhem on repeat, you should take a peek here.
The music of HVRT is a unique mix of blastbeats, ultra-heavy grooves, gloomy harmonies and atmospheric sounds, which, despite all the variety, always appears to come from the same mould. On top of that, the larger-than-life growling of Stefan Braunschmidt (also known from the avant-garde black/death metal band Raptvre), is repeatedly supported and complemented by punkish vocal interludes of guitarist Christian Braunschmidt. Guest appearances of Kirill Gromada (Pripjat, Ayahuasca, Raptvre), Guido Donot (Donots) and Thorn (Necrotic Woods, Raptvre) provide further variations.
"The Grief That Feeds The Night" is HVRT‘s most focused and consistent album to date, and the angry, pissed off and extremely dark lyrics explore the depths of the human world of thought, captivating the listener both musically and emotionally.
"The Grief That Feeds The Night" will be released on 25th of September 2020 on The Crawling Chaos Records and is available as vinyl, CD and on all streaming and download portals.
