Here's an early demo of a texture pack for Hydro Thunder. This is the GameCube version of Hydro Thunder from Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (MAT3) - which is a port of the original Dreamcast Version. It's being emulated on the Dolphin emulator with upscaling.

Just a few changes to the main game so far:
•Remade Title Screen in high res
•Tested a new background and skyline
•A few new grass and mountain textures
•Color swap on the hovercraft from Purple to Red
•New chrome rings on the HUD dials

I've decided to take on a small texture pack project for Hydro Thunder. This will mainly to help clean up some of the fuzz and jagginess of the static assets that the Dolphin emulator can't upscale. A lot of these low res items are in the menus and UI as well as the HUD in the game.

I'll also take on a few texture changes in the levels to see if they can help enhance the feel. Changing up some boat skins is also on the list. There was a cancelled Hydro Thunder 2 game which was similar to the original and a few of the original boats returned, but with new skins, so I'll try to recreate those with the concept artwork that's out there.

This is a WIP and I'll put time into it as I can during the week. A big goal of this is to also have it run on my arcade racing cabinet while being able to have it boot straight to the game menu while bypassing layers of the MAT3 main menu and get straight into boating.
