After playing some Hydro Thunder Hurricane yesterday, I realised I only had a small amount of points left to go to unlock the last 2 'X series' boats, so I decided to play a bit more today. I don't think I've ever got first in Expert on Lake Powell before, so I wanted to cross that off my bucket list. Also, I wanted to beat my leaderboard opponent, my mate Initial Dale. Annoyingly, once I turned my PC on to get the video capture, I got disconnected from Xbox live, so I couldn't see the times to beat as I was playing. My PC and 360 seem to be having some IP address conflict issue. I knew if I could get a sub 1 minute 50 time I'd be good.

So, I checked after turning my PC off and the 360 back on. The time I needed to beat was 1:50:88 -Took me fucking ages to do, and I've just realised now, because I wasn't signed into Xbox live, it hasn't saved it to the leaderboard there. ARRRGGHHHH - for fucks sake! Seriously Vector Unit??? You couldn't save the time offline and upload it once the 360's online again??? Oh well, least I've got the video of me doing it here...

Y'know, much as I love this game, I do find myself getting a bit frustrated with some of the design choices Vector Unit decided to go for in it, like the fact the boats are so damn fragile compared to the first game and so easy to upend. Sometimes, all you need to do is just barely glance a wall as you're cornering and the next thing you know your fucking boat's upside down. Or it explodes. Sometimes just landing funny after a big jump if the water's choppy will capsize you or turn you the wrong way around.

The randomness of the wave physics can also get a bit annoying too, like when the game just seems to decided, 'Y'know what, I think I'm going to just make you randomly launch 20 feet in the air on this particular corner now. What's that? I don't normally make you fly through the air here and if you're flying through the air, you can't steer through the next corner? Ha ha, fuck you!'

The CPU boats have a really bad habit of getting right in the way sometimes too, and unlike the first game you can't Hull Crusher the pricks out the way.

Anyway, moan over. I do genuinely love this game.
