My first playthrough of Storm Racer G using Teknoparrot. I actually 'acquired' this when it first got released onto the internet, and uploaded a video showing the attract mode, but this is actually my first proper play of it. I hadn't meant to leave it so long, but I just got distracted by other real life stuff occurring and pretty much forgot about it. Then, later, I bought a new 3rd party Xbox 360 controller and needed a game to test it out on and thought, 'Ooooh, still haven't tried out SRG yet, let's kill two birds with one stone!'

So, wow, first impressions of this are good. When I first uploaded the video of the attract mode, someone, rather disparagingly, put that it looked like a shitty mobile phone game (or words to that effect), so I'm pleased that in action it's actually rather spiffy to look at and runs at a lovely 60 fps. Noice! I'm liking all the thumpin' dance tunes too. (I just uploaded the raw video file here, rather than rendering into 4K like I normally do, and YouTube has done it's usual number of fucking with the quality in processing).

Just playing it with my (lovely) new 360 pad, it handles good too. This was literally my first ever time playing it and the controls felt intuitive and suitably arcade like (none of that sim racer bollocks here, thank you very much!). The earn nitrous through drifting and slipstreaming feels very Ridge Racer-esque.

There's very little info about the team that made this game on the internet. on their Facebook page it says "Storm Racer G is a Classic Arcade Driving Experience with advanced techonologo. Steering and Drifting is so easy to pick up designed for the majorities.
Founded by Insoft Development Limited (Wahlap HK)"

The links on the FB page are dead, but a quick Google reveals that Insoft Development Limited (Wahlap HK) are still alive and kicking, so I hope they got their money's worth out of the game through arcade sales, before it got cracked.
