This is part of a Hyper Light Drifter playthrough, and features Hyper Light Drifter gameplay and audio, as well as my own special little commentaries.
The Hyper Light Drifter game is set in a visually stunning landscape with a retro look and feel. You play as The Magician, a mysterious swordsman who has a terrible sickness. A plague engulfs the whole world. The Magician's backstory is sparse, and told in short flashbacks, leaving you to fill in a lot of the blanks. You embark on a quest to raise 4 pillars in the city, which may or may not bring about death and destruction. There are four zones to fight through to raise these pillars, with smaller lights to switch on, many enemies and some boss fights. The game has RPG elements, as credits can be found to buy upgrades. Enemies can be killed up close with a sword, or from a distance with various guns. Extra abilities can be bought to supplement these weapons. Each zone has unique enemies and settings. This episode takes place in the final zone, and may contain the final boss. Enemies here tend to be mechanical. There are many secrets to be discovered.
