So here's this... uh... thing. I've been playing a lot of this particular game since last I addressed the "world" with some... fleeting schemes of at least pretending to be relevant to current (gaming release) events as Super Smash Bros. has been all underfoot for awhile now.

Oh, and I guess I've got those... uh... other things also up in the air. But y'know... sometimes you just take a taste of something and it takes total hold over your free time for a bit. Well, it'd be a shame not to try harnessing that sort of thing, right? (Right?!)

In other words, this is what I've been up to and I want to push it through a workflow on the side while I grind away at my existing backlog. That sure hasn't ever backfired, I tell you that much! Nope, never!

At any rate, consider this an uncertain and unsteady declaration of intent. Let nobody ever be surprised if any of these things ever backfire, though. Mostly, I'm trying to restart my engine and get back into the swing of things on account of having been out of it for almost an entire month.

---

But wait, now, I'm getting ahead of myself and stuff... there's... system prompts to be had, unexplained controls to be configured, notifications to be updated! Man... there's... a lot of this... I feel kinda overwhelmed already... what... what the heck, guys?!

I'm pretty sure what we're in store for CAN'T even really be rightly expressed in "Zelda-style" controls anyway, so I'm going to dive right in with the controls familiar to the series... if I was familiar to it in the first place... but I figure it'll be least confusing overall if I go with that version. It's not like playing a new Zelda game on a new piece of hardware with different control layouts all over again isn't old hat to the long-time fan of the Legend, anyway.

I've never played a Warriors series game proper, mind you... although I did play Dynasty Warriors Advance... with like... uh... four facing directions and a whopping FIVE enemy sprites allowed onscreen at once. So... going to have to go with the version of the story that says I've simply never played one before.

At any rate, this game is very much alive and under development and improvement beyond its already impressive store of primary content... maybe TOO impressive. And now you're throwing MORE characters at me? ...not sure I approve of how the game's advertising its own DLC before I can even hit the title screen, though... especially at the same "level" as the base game updates automatically added on for free...

Oh... ohgoddesses... there's MORE? Wait, we were worried about not being able to grind out enough levels or for enough collectible items? I... I can see how that can be an improvement, but I'm not even ready for anything past Level 1 yet! Don't crowd me! I might start to hyperventilate here... oh no... what... what have I gotten into here?!

---

Anyway, after all that stuff... we have... a really uncomfortably persistent title screen. One I'd actually wondered if it might ever actually end and give me some kind of demo play of any sort. Well, it turns out they just couldn't hold back on the musical interlude and all its various movements along the way... and THEN you're allowed to fade out and see something else.

That something else, like many Zelda games, is a bit of an overview of some vaguely-relevant-seeming backstory (they seemed more prologue than distant past in the earliest games, though) that may or may not be spoon-fed to you with greater clarity periodically throughout the game... along with an unhealthy glimpse of just what kind of plot we're in for.

To be perfectly frank... you weren't coming to a game of this sort, what with its fusion of gameplay styles, imminent crossover of unrelated and often impossible coexistence... because it's cool! Because Zelda games are cool! And apparently enough people think so and agree... to the point that two different companies would throw their hats into the ring. (There's also the off chance you might be here for Team Ninja, but there won't be TOO much of that... ... ...but... there is some, for sure.)

---

Anyway... as fair warning... the content I have in mind... is totally blindly-played material... which I don't normally do. I don't trust technology or game design in general to do more than serve as something to be carefully examined under controlled settings with a goal clearly in mind... which isn't to say I have a problem with or aversion to the extemporaneous... I love it quite a bit, in fact. The problem is that I rarely find it to be all that interesting in terms of results, but in certain cases I find myself willing to gamble on the potential of certain instances.

This is... possibly one of those cases where it pays off, hence this video and the flavor of doom it threatens to visit upon you all. (All three or four of you! You know who you are!)
