A sorceress meant to simply watch the balance of the triforce, witnesses the accomplishments of the legendary hero Link over the ages. She is then overcome by a dark entity in a moment of sorrow, and malipulated into doing it's dark bidding. She forms an army of darkness, and begins to attack the land of Hyrule in an attempt to conquer it, but as fate would have it, heroes and other inhabitants of Hyrule, including Link himself, join forces to defend against her army.

First part of a long playthrough of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch. I will be trying to stitch all the different character missions in what I believe to be Chronological order. The game doesn't have an official intro of some sort, so I got creative by using one of the wii u character trailers, and a level in adventure mode to give the story one at the start. Normally I like to upload game playthroughs in one long video, but doing a full video on this game is way too long for my editor to calmy work with, so I am going to have to split it into parts. I will also be trying to use as many characters as possible instead of sticking to just a few.

If you ever played Dynasty Warriors, which I haven't, this game plays similar to that game in it's mechanics, except it revolves around the Hyrule Universe. Basically, you play on a map, similar to the territory take-over aspect of GTA San Andreas, take over enemy territories around you, and take out one or more specific targets. You usually start with at least one area under your control referred to as the "Allied Base," which is colored in blue on your map as well as your allied units, and your missions may consist of taking specific enemy territory, taking out one or more enemy targets, or protecting some of your own. The enemies will also be aiming to take over your territories as well. If your Allied Base is taken over, it's game over for you.

This game has an amazing story, and it's actually quite different than other zelda games. There are no crazy complicated dungeons to get lost in, as you always have a map to see where you are, and all you are doing is fighting enemy units in a fast paced action game, with some rpg elements. With a huge roster of classic and new Zelda heroes and villians playable in the story, and in other modes, this game is a must play for any real Zelda fan. In most story missions, you can decide between a small number of characters who you want to play with, and if you picked one option, most times during each mission after hitting certain checkpoints, you can always switch to another available for that mission, so you aren't always stuck with one specific character in a mission. The exception being if there are character specific quests to unlock extra heart containers or other goodies in levels.

After beating a level in the story mode, you can play it under another mode called "Free Play" which allows you to play with any character you unlocked in the game. There is also a mode called Adventure Mode that allows you to unlock more characters, new weapons for them, extra costumes, heart pieces to increase life for each, and fairies which grant you an extra special attack. Fairies can then be customized by finding specific clothing for them that gives them certain elemental boosts, although the visual aspect of their outfits can't actually be seen in the levels themselves, and the buffs are restricted to 1 of 5 elements, and each fairy is also limited to being 1 of the 5 elements. So using a clothing that boosts water damage is kinda useless on a fire fairy. There are alot Adventure mode maps, with alot of levels, so even after beating the story, this game has alot to keep you busy. Better than all these new games with these extra 30 dollar DLC additions IMO.

Anyways hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching :) As mentioned, I will be uploading more of the story in parts!
