He needed Komaru to shoot him to end his suffering. Komaru, seeing this, shot him, of the 40 people she had already killed, she always made his victims suffer and be tortured to death so she accepted to end Hajime suffering and she accepted her fate. She was going to be executed and she would accept it. When Komaru shot him, Hajime fell into the pool. She simply saw his body and knew that he only did it because he hated seeing others suffer and she will always have respect for him for having the balls to stab himself...

On the other side Rantaro was secretly watching them while he had Maki's unconscious body, he wanted to drown her but his plans were interrupted by the other two... Rantaro waited that Komaru leaves to leave Maki's body next to the pool, after all she was going to survive.
