I Can Play Pikachu | Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Pikachu Montage
Self critique and links to other platforms below.
I decided to join the fray and start making Smash content.
This is a learning experience for myself, where I aim to become a better Smash player and game editor.

Self-Critique and what I learned:
I wanna start by saying this is probably my least favorite of the series so far.
For Gameplay:
I just don't like playing Pikachu...
He's strong, don't get me wrong. Voted top tier for most players, but he requires a lot of skill and practice to use, something I didn't have the time to do. Mario and Ganon are pretty easy to pick up, play, and understand, but Pikachu is his own beast. His recovery is good when used properly, but can also result in flailing and panicking and sending yourself straight to your death. His combos are great, but it's a lot to keep track of what can lead into what at certain percentages. Pikachu's small hurt boxes were also weird to get used to, especially after coming off of Ganon.
Even when I had good plays, a lot of it ended up being "he was at 140%, there was literally no way he didn't die". So next montage, I'm gonna be a little more hog wild.
For Editing:
All in all, editing was just okay. I don't know if any of you can tell, but there gets to a point where the editing is just... rushed. I wasn't enjoying this video anymore because I felt the gameplay was just so lackluster. Like I could do more editing if I had played a better character. The talking parts also come off lazy. As I say in the video, better finished than perfect. I just wanted to finish so I could play a character I understood, and took more time getting footage. Pikachu just isn't my muse.
I padded a lot of the lack of gameplay skill with memes. Personally, it was a good experiment, but I think it makes the montage look cheap.
The one good thing though, is I got better about not adding screen shake to every hit. It's distracting and doesn't add much if I use it all the time. I think it's better used sparingly like I did here.
I didn't use those dumb Pokemon text boxes though. Honestly, I hate when montage makers use those. They're just so distracting and usually unfunny.
For Video Creating:
It seems to be the same problem as last time; I have a hard time writing scripts. This, again, however, goes hand in hand in just wanting to get this video completed. I just rushed the script, recorded it once, called it a day. At the end of the day, I'm not proud of this video. I just put it up so I can hopefully look back on it later and think "wow, I'm a lot better now".
I am sorry. I will try harder next time.
