I Can't Seem To Fix Streamlabs - Channel Update (4/6/2023)
So for the past few weeks Streamlabs has kept freezing, and at this point, I have no clue how to fix it. I've attempted:
- Deleting unused scenes/sources.
- Streamlabs, Elgato, and GeForce are all seemingly up to date with the latest drivers. (Streamlabs is version 1.12.5).
- Running Streamlabs in Admin mode.
- Running Streamlabs in Windows 7 compatibility mode. (Tried Windows 8 previously as well).
- Updating how the program interacts with my firewall (per SLOBS' directions).
- Adjusted how SLOBS handles GPG hardware acceleration within the program.
At this point, I feel like I'm starting to run out of options. I just don't know if fully switching over to OBS/StreamElements will solve my issue, since I don't really know what my issue even is. As I can't seem to find anyone having the exact same issue as me in forums. Likewise, I'm not sure how many scenes/alerts I'll be able to keep as a result, and may have to recreate a lot of my setup from scratch or via new artist commissions.
The program creates no crash logs, either. As it doesn't crash fully in the traditional sense. The preview just freezes, the program stops transmitting to Twitch, and the file I was originally recording ultimately becomes corrupted. And it's random when this occurs. I've had it happen 40 minutes in, and this time was the longest at 3 hours and 20 minutes. But it has done so at least five times now, so it's relatively consistent with messing up projects.
Sometimes the crash happens with something noticeable, like Nvidia GeForce notifying me that a new update is available for download (which I've since turned alerts off for). But other times it seems to be random, without me seemingly applying any other conflicting inputs. Likewise, my CPU never goes above 50%, and my GPU never goes above 70%. Even with high game settings.
This also occurs when using an Elgato HD60 S for recording console gameplay. So it's not a result of Genshin interfering with the capture program.
Worth noting, whenever I tell it to stop the first recording after a freeze, it AUTOMATICALLY starts another one. That wasn't mean attempting to start a new recording for demonstration purposes, it just begins a "new" one for some reason. Even though there's never a second file in my folder, and the first file always gets corrupted.
There's also no point to switching to MKV recording, as my Vegas editor isn't compatible with the file types. So they do unfortunately have to remain MP4.
If anybody has any suggestions or has encountered this issue before, please let me know! Because I feel like I'm running out of ideas, and don't know if making the jump to a whole new program would even be worth it.
