I did Crossroads in Stronghold Crusader Extreme without being able to hear anything.
I record with a capture card which doesn't allow for audio if you don't use the HDMI out so I couldn't hear anything the whole time.
I didn't come up with anything I just saw a bunch of videos and this is how I prefer to do it. I can't name anyone by name in terms of anything though.
The number 1 thing I noticed is that Nizar must die... MUST! He will keep to keep you the entire time and burn your stuff so I first send around 15-20 shield supported Crossbowmen which tends to be enough to keep him at bay. I once tried to keep him suppressed with a strategy trying just to fortify and using the stone power to destroy the spawners but dude would not stay down. Just kill him ASAP. It is free money, though you don't kill any spawners.
My job fortifying my castle wasn't the best. I did notice if I put 1 drawbridge on the gatehouse it will encourage the AI to send them to the non bridged gatehouse which makes fire defense much easier. If you do both they will undig the moat and batter your castle from all sides.
The biggest issue here is the slave spawner of the Caliph (only one). Eventually he will send endless waves that makes it hard for your archers to keep up with. What I like to do is after killing Nazir I go for the Emir on top and with macemen and back them with the arrow ability. This Emir will keep throwing rocks with mangonel in your keep and make your day bad. It is also vital if you want to kill the Calph and he will wreck your forces going to Caliph.
While the Caliph will be your biggest issue with slaves his castle kind of sucks. Just wait for your magic bar to fill to use the arrows to weaken his forces and send Macemen. Your biggest headaches will be over once you kill him as it takes the ridiculous spawner away.
