Sometimes you get a good run, not a god run, but a very very very good run. and then you fumble it all over the place disrespecting what you were given. I felt a little like big daddy urza in this (except this wasn't a god run I got at the expense of millions of other people), so much god like power and I just fumbled it over and over. Almost died crashing into Phyrexia and blowing a hole in it in the process. Then taking it personally when he was forced out, his impotent rage in the face of losing to Gix despite all his power thus forcing Xantcha to live with the regret of picking one of you. Facing her regret every day that she picked the wrong evil man, just like Rebbec before her. This was always about Yawgmoth and Glacian feeling entitled to Rebbec. They passed it onto their daughters. in fits of immature rage that festered for literal millenia. no growth. just becoming worse. Phyrexia was Yawgmoth's hate machine. and Glacian was the man that wasn't quite good enough. Together they forced Rebbec and their daughters to clean up their selfish self entitled bullshit. anyway I have this whole like essay on what Phyrexia is and why Rebbec, Xantcha, Belbe, and Elesh Norn are the heroines of the story. they all play different parts and they aren't allowed to win by the men involved, but they seek a better future for their people. and I might rewrite it to make sure it's organized and do a video where I talk about it. at the end of the day though, we're all the product of the violence of men on everyone else and it's time to decenter them entirely. you can't get even, they own everything. but you can save yourself. there are no nice guys, they are just Glacians and Ertais. Men who take the women in their lives for granted and feel entitled to them. They will daydream about being the shining white knight saving their woman while the woman of their dreams fights for her life. because they lack the capacity to care.
