'I Like to Eat' - Making of
After having done so many maps recently I felt like making some music again. Where best to start than by listening to my previous stuff to see what worked and what didn't, along with a step-by-step video showing how they all came together?

I Like to Eat - 17th September 2009 - 13th December 2009
My 22nd song. After Granny's Spaghetti and the bit near the end with the arpeggios in the background, it got me thinking. I built this one up around a background humming sound. The tune I used was borrowed from my 20th song, 'Underpass', only done in the way I wanted it to be done, rather than in a way that feedback told me it should be done. I guess you've got to ask yourself, when creating anything- why are you doing it? With maps and stuff, it's because I get an idea in my head and have to try and recreate it. I'm always disappointed. With music, I have no ideas or inspiration. I just start on something, think 'ohh that sounds nice!' and I build on it. I have listened to each of my songs hundreds of times and enjoy listening to them more than any other songs I know. I'm sure they're not good songs, but they're my style and have been made in a way that I want them to be. In fact, the only one I haven't listened to as much is 'Underpass'- one where I went out of my way to appease the feedback I had received from friends and family. There. Just putting that out there. Having trouble finishing maps? Start one without any idea of what you want it to be. Just playtest it, and see what's fun. Go from there and you won't be disappointed. There are far too many people in the world with such high standards that they never finish anything and only attack people who do. Don't become one of them. Start low, and build up slowly.
