I Made a Video Game! "This is an RPG" Let's Play
http://powerup.tv/ This is a game I threw together in about 3 hours using RPG Maker VX Ace. What do you think? Would you play this game if I finished it?
The original idea was to do a homage to Azure Dreams and Lufia II but I wanted a combat system that wouldn't be boring, but yet not too complicated. I am unsure how to do random dungeon floor generation in RPG Maker so I just sort of threw the levels together with some basic learning curve design (hit this switch, that switch, etc) and writing comical dialogue.
I am planning to add a crafting system and a monster ally recruit system, but I'm still not 100% sure if the battle system will remain the classic Dragon Quest style.
This is most definitely a parody of many RPG videogame tropes. I hope you guys find it amusing.

RPG Maker VX Ace (Also known as VXAce or Ace) is the latest version of RPG Maker released by Enterbrain. It was released in Japan on CD and digital download on December 15, 2011. It was released in the United States on March 15, 2012 as a digital download. It was later made available through Steam, and is also now available as a physical CD.] RPG Maker VX Ace is essentially an overhauled version of RPG Maker VX, and removes the issue with multiple tilesets. Battle backgrounds were re-introduced, and are separated into top and bottom halves. Spells, skills, and items can all now have their own damage and recovery formulas, although a quick calculation method reminiscent of the older RPG Makers is available. The VX RTP was redesigned for VX Ace, and a new soundtrack featuring higher quality techno-pop tracks was included. With the release of VX Ace came a large quantity of DLC Resource Packages, officially offered by Enterbrain, and also available through Steam.
