I Miss The Days When Games Didn't Need Patches
75Renfail chats with the livestream community during yesterday morning's Assassin's Creed Shadows stream about the impossibility of games "just releasing on a disc" and never needing patches, after someone in chat said they missed the "good old days" when games released with everything in the box and never needed patches. Sure. Maybe 25 years ago before the Internet, back when games were 15 megabytes, but the days of patchless games are decades long gone, and when you have video games as complex as Asassin's Creed Shadows or other AAA titles launching in 2025 and the modern era, it's just unrealistic to want to return to "simpler times" while also wanting complex, modern gameplay.
