I only need ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ bullet, Mr. Bond... (check description)
There's a reason why Francisco Scaramanga is my favorite James Bond villain and is likely THE anti-Bond among them all (alongside 006 Trevelyan). In this video, I showcase his iconic line of him saying to 007 in the classic ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ฏ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐๐ถ๐ฏ film "I only need one", in the form of using all three variants of his infamous Golden Gun, one of the most OP guns you could ever see in a FPS game, between GoldenEye 007 and its spiritual successor Perfect Dark, against the toughest enemies I could find among the two great titles, which are Baron Samedi, Jaws, and the Skedar King, with the first two being other powerful Bond villains.
I absolutely ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ท๐ฆ๐ฅ the Golden Gun; It's so powerful, it can take out anything with just a single shot. I can use it, anyday. Only downside is cheats are required, as obviously it's a special weapon. I believe the reason why the Golden Gun packs such an extreme punch is because it's to reflect that Scaramanga has serious marksmanship skills and doesn't miss his shots. In the video, I tried my best to do the exact way Scaramanga himself does by taking the enemies out without missing (as it's so easy to mess up no matter how precise you aim) and not hold two of any of the weapons, despite an unintentional error I did at one point. Normally, I never dual-wield any of the Golden Guns because it's overkill and especially gets rid of the Bond villain's feel.
Here are my opinions below about three Golden Guns I showed:
Golden Gun (GoldenEye 007): This is the classic Golden Gun we all know about, as it is the version seen in the 1974 movie, uniquely created by four everyday objects (pen, lighter, cigarette case, and cufflink). It does have appearances in later Bond games, but I think GoldenEye did it best. This particular one is quite risky to use, as like a derringer, it only holds a single round, so definitely try not to miss. But, for an assassin like Scaramanga, his aiming skills handled that issue no problem. Dual-wielding does help a bit, but be careful of facing multiple enemies.
Gold PP7 (GoldenEye 007): This one might raise an eyebrow, as it's not actually an official Golden Gun Scaramanga himself used, but a special variant of Bond's trademark Walther PPK exclusive to the game. I included it, because it's related and have the same principle. Compared to the film one, it is a huge advantage as it holds 7 rounds rather than 1 and uses normal bullets instead. Interestingly, it is actually Bond and Scaramanga's trademark weapons completely fused into one! The design, gold plating, raw power, and adding up the magazine of the Walther PPK (6) and the movie Golden Gun (1) all match! Dual-wield this one and watch your enemies drop dead like boards with ease. Very fun to use.
DY357-LX (Perfect Dark): This homage Golden Gun, owned by game villain Trent Easton, is the pure definition of overpowered. Not many people realize this, but this particular gun is actually a clear reference to what Scaramanga's Golden Gun originally was in the 1965 novel from Bond creator Ian Fleming, so Rareware knowingly or unknowingly made a coincidence; Being a gold-plated revolver, it is so strong in power, this one ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฒ๐ penetrate targets, so you can kill multiple enemies with 1 round! It is expectedly slow, so be warned. From experience, although it doesn't happen with every shot, it is possible to still instantly kill an enemy with a Shield even with 1000% health setting in Perfect Dark difficulty (that also works for the Farsight XR-20). This is probably my favorite among the three due to the fact the DY357-LX simulates what the Golden Gun was supposed to be according to Ian Fleming's mind. It has 6 rounds, so good thing no need to reload after being fired every time, like the Gold PP7. Dual-wielding this one is totally overkill in Perfect Dark.
I do know that in the original novel, Scaramanga also carried a golden derringer with its bullet coated with snake venom, as a backup weapon. In both cases of the book and especially the movie, Francisco Scaramanga is no joke. GoldenEye 007 even called him "the deadliest assassin of all time".
I was originally going to draw myself holding both official revolver/pistol Golden Guns, but I didn't have the time due to my planned projects, so a picture of Scaramanga took its place.
The evil laugh you hear in the end is actually the original, unedited stock recording of the laugh used for Baron Samedi in GoldenEye! I put that in not only Scaramanga was a great villain, but really because, let's be serious - it takes a real maniac to wield an expensive gold gun capable of destroying anything with only 1 shot. If I have the Golden Gun right now, I'd put it on display. But, I do have good news: the Golden Gun is canon in my crossover story!
