In this devlog / dev blog for the rework of my Unity multiplayer movement FPS game, Paint Warfare, I show you some of the curses of releasing my game and getting on the front page of Steam, (even though the median playtime was something like ~7 minutes). There were hackers in almost every lobby for the first few weeks of release, though I managed to put together some simple anticheat and patched out some exploits which, (although not perfect), reduced the number of hackers by a lot. Some of the things I teach/explain in this video are the ways I fought off hackers/cheaters, the details of game networking, how I added some new pew pew, used a Unity decal shader to make stickers and how used a cool nature shader asset to improve the looks and playability of one of the maps :)
