I Still Don't Know When to Stop Painting
I have two approaches to painting - most pieces have an end goal to create a finished piece, but sometimes I like to paint aimlessly just to be engaged in the act of painting. It's obviously something I enjoy, so in the absence of an actual project, sometimes I just dive in and paint without purpose. Unfortunately, in this second scenario, I often have no idea when to stop. This is a problem I had a couple years ago when I started, and guess what? I still haven't figured it out. This painting is a perfect example. It's my 250th overall, and is a head-and-shoulders portrait of a guy with a five o'clock shadow...I should have stopped right about at the 00:54 timestamp.
