I was ONE enemy away. Again. And this is one NIGHTMARISH level to play.
In most games of reasonable length, even the best, there is - intentional or not (and I don't think it is here) - that one level that just isn't very pleasant to play. I wish I could say that isn't the case for Atomprojekt, but unfortunately this is 'that' level. Not because it isn't well designed, looks good, has great atmosphere and music, but simply because of the amount of patience and backtracking that is required. I won't even say for certain it's the hardest in the game (although it is without a doubt the hardest so far with three more after).
Every single area, from start to finish, can easily kill you in less than a second, and on a level in which you must do a lot of waiting and backtracking, I'm afraid those ingredients don't mix so well (for no save runs; it would be fine with them). So...the area that did it for me here just so happened to be the LAST area, as my luck would have it. See that Kommando who killed me? If I had survived him, I'm done with this level. But no, a final fight featuring three Kommandos and company got the best of me. :(
If I can't get this successfully within a few days, I may just move to Floor 32, try and get those last three levels down, and then keep retrying this one intermittently until I get it. I will...eventually, at the very least. If I got that close I can (though it is probably only one in 50 tries I do). But I really don't want it to affect my motivation - or in turn the continuation of this playthrough to the finish.
