And now for something completely different. After all the intricate covers and the challenge that comes with transcription, I wanted to do something else and create my own music spontaneously. Except this time there’s no transcription, writing, or tedium. I hit record and let loose whatever came to mind. Drums and bass were programmed after the fact.
This was so much fun! It feels good to not have to try too hard and let the music flow. No matter how easy or difficult it was, everything was fair game. The last two covers were exceedingly difficult for me, so this was a welcome change and a good reminder of how much fun music can really be!
It is a nice exercise to breathe originality into all of my covers and I enjoy making them. This time I was excited to have no limitations and no expectations. The goal wasn’t to make the most detailed song but to be relaxed. This style of creativity is something I’ve done before even the YouTube days of this channel, so to do something like this is refreshing and nostalgic at the same time.
