I'm still learning this weapon, still hammer noob, I like using invulnerability window skill for this, also earplugs, tremmor resist on the gear helps a lot against Uragaans super chin smack, and i also have +30mount dmg from one bit of armor(legiana gloves?). Getting latch claw attacks in while wearing the hax cloaks(temporal/rocksteady mantle) is rediculously fun since the monster can pretty much not do anything about it... they can still kill you with the rocksteady tho, which almost happened to me a few times... a couple of weird near misses happen in the fight... really enjoying hammer, it's kind of making me have lots of fun with monsters I usually don't enjoy with my regular style(LS,GS,CB,lance,HBG), Uragaan/barroth aspecially are a treat with hammers I've noticed... maybe i'll find more monsters who're more fun with hammer
