Like Sid Meier's Civilazation? On August 22, we chatted with one of the game's writer and researcher Tidewater native Andrew Johnson.  

Andrew Alan Johnson is a cultural anthropologist who specializes in environmental and urban change in Southeast Asia. He received his PhD from Cornell University in 2010 and has taught at Princeton University, Yale-NUS College, Columbia University, and other institutions. He is the author of Ghosts of the New City (2014, University of Hawaii Press), and Mekong Dreaming (2020, Duke University Press), and numerous journal articles. He is a Tidewater native, and attended Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (too) many years ago. He currently lives in Baltimore, where he is the writer and researcher for Firaxis Games's Civilization series.
