And a point I didn't mention in the video: One day the IDW Sonic comic would end, no matter what. It just so happens that it’s definitely going to end sooner rather than later. And when that happens, what then? Will it still be canon even though it is no longer being produced? Will it still be canon if due to IDW going out of business the comic becomes out of print and is delisted from all digital storefronts and becomes impossible to legally consume? Five to ten years from now, if fans want to experience the full scope of Sonic’s canonical continuity will they be forced to go through internet archive backlogs of this short lived comic book that was never even references or acknowledged by the source material of the video games anyway?

If it isn't in the games, then it isn't canon. End of discussion.
