If Wizard of Legend Was An FPS Arena Roguelike | Revenge of The Mage - Part 1
Hello everyone! Here we are with another new release. This is Revenge of the Mage, an fps roguelike where you go from arena to arena, defeating a specific amount of enemies to unlock the boss fight. Combat is really smooth and animations look great. It feels so satisfying to get rif of a bunch of enemies using your every skill. With that being said, there were many decisions taken that made the game unbearably grindy. First, you need to extract to get resources for meta-progression; second, enemies just get too much HP and deal too much damage; and third upgrades are expensive and barely upgrade something. So, even when the action is a lot of fun, the progression might ruin this in the long run (I say "might", because I still haven't gotten to that point). Another bad decision, in my opinion, is making the unlock of other characters also paid (in-game currency I mean), which takes away some of the early replayability and forces you to keep using the same character over and over for a few hours (because the other guys are expensive and, of course, it is better to use money to upgrade your stats). I think it would have been a way better idea to unlock characters and/or other skills with progress or achievements (by beating levels, beating a certain amount of enemies or stuff like that).
