The Thriller Bark Arc is the eighteenth story arc in the series, and the first and only in the Thriller Bark Saga.
The Straw Hats, during their journey into the Florian Triangle arrive at a haunted island/ship called Thriller Bark, in which their shadows are stolen by Warlord of the Sea Gecko Moria and must hurry to get them back before the sun rises. After defeating Moria, another Warlord shows up to make the Straw Hats' situation worse. The Straw Hats also gain a new crewmate, a living skeleton named Brook who becomes their musician.
Gecko Moria is the captain of the Thriller Bark Pirates and a former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea who resides on the largest ship in the world, Thriller Bark. His bounty is Beli.png320,000,000, which was frozen until he lost his Warlord position.
In his youth, Moria served as captain of the Gecko Pirates, until a vast majority of its members were killed in a fight against Kaidou of the Four Emperors. This traumatic event led Moria to seek power through an army of zombies, constructed by his subordinate, Dr. Hogback.
He is the primary antagonist of the Thriller Bark Saga who stole the shadows of Brook and various other beings with the power of the Kage Kage no Mi.
Bartholomew Kuma is a former Warlord of the Sea, the former king of the Sorbet Kingdom, and a former officer of the Revolutionary Army with a bounty of Beli.png296,000,000.
Once feared as an extremely vicious pirate, earning himself the title "Tyrant", he is now a human weapon called "Pacifista", developed by the scientist Vegapunk.
