20Hidden steam games, don't you love them steam has some absolutely epic pieces of software hidden away in Gabe's bottom desk draw.
IKARUGA is one of them, arguably one of the best shooter games ever made. Players take control of a small space ship, armed with some poetic words they have to some how get to the end of the game.
What made and still makes Ikaruga stand out is the ability for a player to shift between two colours allowing for the game to have twice as much glowing things be shot at you and for the likelihood of the player to having a seizure approach one.
We highly recommend getting this game, its a really solid port with all the options that you would expect. The graphics hold up well and to be frank its simply a bloody good game.
We are playing this with the Datel Arcade Pro Joystick, I say in the video that you can pick it up for £15 or so but I just had a look and apparently they are no longer made and cost £50+ ! so not so much a bargain any-more !
