I'm Learning to Mix/Master in Ableton while LIVE! || Compression || Episode 1
2If you've been in my live stream on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/thelolmighty) or watched some VODs here on YouTube, you've heard me talk about this. This is me, learning the basics of various mixing and mastering components -- plugins/VSTs, parts of songs, etc -- while live on stream. It is long-form content of me watching tutorials, talking out loud to myself and chat, and solidifying and building a variety of concepts. Having recently been diagnosed with ADHD and autism, I have found the language to describe my learning as bottom-up. I need to ask a lot of straightforward and often simple questions in order to connect the web of understanding, and build from there. Once a foundation is laid, I typically have a very strong understanding of it.
This is the first episode, Compression. In my efforts to keep my videos less than 3 hours, there will probably be a part 2 of Compression in which I tweak or start anew with audio projects that I'm currently working on, because even this video went longer than attempted.
