I'm probably WRONG about the recent Plex news... [CORRECTIONS IN DESCRIPTION]
673CORRECTIONS: Plex have reached out after this video to assure me, and you, that they are committed to their core focus of media file management. I believe this to be true, and I thought I had conveyed that well enough in the video - but I can see how it might be taken the wrong way. I've had to deal with a lot the past few weeks and was not as clear as usual.
These are still concerns I have for the long-haul, concerns that would be valid of any for-profit company, but Plex being willing to take a stand for maintaining this focus does mean something. HTPC support removal and the new AVOD integration have nothing to do with one another, I'm told.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT: "Plex is committed to its core offering - to maintaining it, improving it, adding functionality, supporting new platforms as they come available, and to continue to be the best way to access and enjoy all of the media that you own. There's been a lot of Plex news over the past month or so, not all of it good. Or at least, the implications could be concerning.
