The phrase "Imminent Domain" is a play on "eminent domain". Eminent domain is a legal term, but it always sounded formidable to me. While trying to name this song, that term came to mind. I thought of why I liked it, and realized it was because "eminent" sounded like "imminent" and that it used the word domain. I wondered what "imminent domain" would be. Since "imminent" means "about to happen" and "domain" is territory owned by a ruler, I imagine that "imminent domain" would be territory that a powerful person is about to seize or take control of. I thought of this while trying to come up with a title for this song, which I actually composed right after "New World" and just before "Piano Groove". It just took a long time to name.
