Part 2 of a walkthrough for a game called "Immortal Love: Letter from the Past". In this part, Jacques learns more about the plot against him. Angelica's Uncle Pierre worked to frame Jacques, probably at the request of Count D'Morten. D'Morten wants to marry Angelica, even though she's already married to Jacques.
Jacques secures his escape from jail, with the help of his mysterious masked friend. Jacques finds the tortured corpse of Valery, the count's first wife. She is being tortured, with a time-travelling amulet. Jacques uses the amulet to help him avoid a guard while escaping.
Also, D'Morten seems to have evil, otherworldly powers.
