My good friend, Pianist/Composer John Franek, is one of the most talented improvisers that I have ever seen work. A few years ago, we did an "Improvathon" as the second half of one of his informal concerts, and it was a huge success. So, we're doing it again! We're looking for suggestions of aesthetic surroundings, situations, locations, etc. on which John can improvise. Just a few examples to get your thoughts going...mountain sunset, soft snow, a Paris marketplace, driving on the NJ turnpike, an Amazon Rainforest at dawn...etc. The idea is to evoke ideas instead of recreating existing music.
