In a Snowbound Land (DKC2) - BitQuest SoundBytes
The new era of BitQuest begins, and I intend to start it off with a bang! This is one of my all time favourite pieces of video game music, composed by the incredibly talented David Wise for the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (arguably the greatest game soundtrack of all time). I put my own spin on it and hope that I did the original justice. I guess you could call it post-rock with a hint of whatever A Perfect Circle are classified as?
Any questions, criticisms, praise, requests, or anything else; don't hesitate to leave a comment and I'll be sure to respoind to you. Thanks for watching/listening!
Apologies for the bad quality of my talk at the end. I didn't have the energy to go setting up yet another mic stand (I was using one to hold my phone for all the shots) and just quickly bashed it out before rendering.
Equipment used
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Electric Guitars - PRS Custom 24 (1992), Fender MIM Telecaster, Electa Classic (Les Paul copy)
Greg Bennett Bass of some kind, it has both J and P bass active pickups (if anyone has any info on it that would be awesome)
Taylor 114ce Electric Acoustic
eBow used on PRS and bass (with great difficulty), slide used on bass (also not easy)
Mics: SM57 (guitar cab), AT2021 & Studio Projects SP1 (acoustic), DI box (bass)
Keys: M-Audio Axiom 49 MIDI Keyboard
Virtual Instruments:
Rhodes - Lounge Lizard EP-3
Glockenspiel - IK Multimedia Miroslav Philharmonik
Elec Drums - I think just the basic Boom plugin. I intended to change it later and never did
Drums - Superior Drummer 2.0
Toms - Vir2 Cinematic Thunder
Filmed on an iPhone7+, which it turns out isn't incredible in low light settings. Won't be doing that again, despite how much I love blue lights.
All running into/on an iMac with Pro Tools 10 and a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56. Yamaha HS80 monitors + HS10W Sub, AKG headphones that I can't be bothered going to the other room to find the model number of, but they're pretty sweet.

BitQuest is a channel filled with various types of gaming content. While the bulk of this is Let's Plays, I venture into other creative endeavours such as cover music, retro games, indie games and more! I'm always up for improving myself and my content, and I'll try anything that strikes my interest. This isn't just an average Let's Play channel.
