We get to play as Barrett after he fell into a secret lab underneath Sector 7. Shinra probably should have considered it's existence before dropping a plate on top of it. Still it's a glimpse into the mysterious experiments that those corporate scientists have been performing. I'm sure we'll see more of that later.
