0An elevator shaft is sort of like a pipe, if the lights are low and you squint really hard. And, technically, there's only four of us - unless you include Sasha's pet, which may or may not survive if she decides to take it off world when we finally get rescued. Or, if you want to get more abstract, you could say that the title is in reference to being on the path to victory.

Developed by AMPLITUDE Studios and published by SEGA, Dungeon of the Endless is a tower defense strategy game that features realtime-with-pause action, unlockable characters, and a deep story with connections to other titles in the Endless Series. Up to four players control a ragtag group of survivors as they search for resources, build and upgrade their defenses, and protect a salvaged power core from regular enemy attacks on each procedurally generated floor.
While shipping a few hundred condemned criminals to the Auriga system to "earn their freedom," the prison hulk Success comes under fire from a long-forgotten defense satellite. Escape pods were jettisoned towards the nearby surface of Auriga Prime as the ship began to disintegrate. One pod in particular, containing an eclectic mix of prisoners and crew, slammed through a dozen floors of an ancient underground facility once owned by the Endless. This is their story.
