The Indian indices opened lower today amid mixed global cues with Nifty at 24600. The Sensex was down 295.26 points or 0.36 percent at 81,453.31, and the Nifty was down 84.90 points or 0.34 percent at 24,583.35. About 1449 shares advanced, 1032 shares declined, and 136 shares unchanged. Cipla, Tata Motors, ONGC, Titan Company and Bajaj Finance were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Reliance Industries, Shriram Finance, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel and Britannia.
