Inept Reviews: Dustbin Trilogy + Bonus Material
I don't just review popular games folks, I like to give more than just that back to the retro fans out there. Back in October '08, whilst disappointingly sober, I decided to check out random Spectrum titles. It was then I chanced upon a rare gem called 'Super Dustbin' by one Clive Smith. A wondrous, yet bewildering game, I was instantly hooked and set about reviewing his entire back catalog of ZX Spectrum software. Incredibly, I was to discover that Super Dustbin was the third title in a trilogy of Dustbin related games. Not only that, but Clive Smith also created the fast paced action game 'Grid Quest'. It had not only sound, but music and JOYSTICK Support! Whilst this didn't instantly elevate Clive to the second coming of Christ status, it surely cemented his place amongst the programming greats on the humble machine.
So sit back and enjoy the show. Five bonus points goes to whomever can first correctly identify all the music contained in the video. And let us all raise our glasses to a forgotten king of the ZX Spectrum scene. Clive Smith, thou shall not be forgotten in a hurry again!
