Dismantling or infusing items in your inventory in destiny 2 is super easy. If you don't like an item but you want its power level you will want to infuse that item with your weaker item. You cannot do this on Rare items, but you can do it on Legendary or Exotic items. If you are needing materials like legendary shards or gunsmith material you can dismantle items to add that to your consumer inventory. If you need to purchase any items like say upgrade modules then you will get that at the gunsmith in the tower.
