Get ready, gamers! The long-awaited return of the Zombies mode is here with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and we’re diving deep into what makes this installment a must-play for fans old and new! In this video, we’ll explore the thrilling world of Zombies, where 1-4 players can team up to face relentless waves of the undead, escalating in difficulty with each round. This time, the story picks up after the events of 2020’s Black Ops Cold War, continuing the captivating Dark Aether storyline that has kept players on the edge of their seats. Get to know a fresh cast, including returning favorites like Weaver, Grey, and Carver, as well as new character Maya, each with their own unique storyline that enriches the gameplay experience.

We’re especially excited about the two maps launching with Black Ops 6 Zombies: Liberty Falls, set in the scenic yet terrifying landscapes of West Virginia, and Terminus, a massive island located in the Philippine Sea. We had the chance to play on the Terminus map, which Treyarch claims is their biggest yet. This expansive setting is filled with side missions, dynamic encounters, and environmental traps, ensuring that no two sessions are ever the same. Imagine battling through hordes of zombies while navigating traps and uncovering hidden areas! Treyarch’s motto for this map, “anywhere you can see, you can go,” promises a level of exploration that will keep you engaged for hours on end.

In our video, we’ll break down all the exciting new features that Black Ops 6 Zombies has to offer. This installment brings back fan-favorite mechanics like Global Progression and Weapon Customization, along with the return of GobbleGums, single-use items that grant powerful effects during gameplay. These elements add layers of strategy and customization that veteran players will appreciate while being accessible to newcomers.

Prepare to face a variety of new enemies, including the deadly Vermin and Parasites, which evolve and mutate after you defeat their main host. This dynamic enemy design keeps you on your toes, as you’ll need to adapt your strategies quickly or risk being overwhelmed. And don’t miss the introduction of the all-new BeamSmasher Wonder Weapon, utilizing sound frequency and light energy to deliver devastating damage with unique effects—imagine making an enemy teleport high into the air only for them to plummet back down!

The gameplay experience is further enhanced by the Augment Upgrade System, allowing you to unlock major and minor upgrades for every perk, field upgrade, and ammo mod. With a total of one hundred augments available at launch, you can customize your playstyle and focus your progression towards specific upgrades. One of our favorites from the play session was the Melee Macchiato Perk, which transforms your melee attacks into powerful blows capable of smashing through zombie hordes.

But that’s not all—Black Ops 6 Zombies is introducing several new quality-of-life features that are sure to enhance your gameplay experience. The “Save and Quit” feature allows players to pause and resume solo games, while a new drop-in/drop-out mechanic enables friends to join ongoing co-op games without disrupting the action. This is perfect for casual gaming sessions where friends can jump in or out as needed.

One of the most exciting additions is the Guided Mode, aimed at newcomers who might find the traditional Zombies experience overwhelming. This mode removes side missions and the round-based ticking clock, creating a more welcoming environment to help new players complete the main quest. As a bonus incentive for hardcore players, a special calling card will be awarded to those who finish the main quest before the Guided Mode launches.

After spending 45 minutes battling the undead on the expansive island of Terminus, we can confidently say that Black Ops 6 Zombies is shaping up to be one of the most comprehensive and polished iterations of the mode since its debut in Call of Duty: World at War. The balance of challenge and strategy is evident, as we found ourselves needing to communicate and collaborate with teammates more than ever to survive the relentless waves of enemies. The excitement of using the Mystery Box to try out various weapons—from shotguns to SMGs and assault rifles—was a thrill in itself, showcasing the game’s diversity and depth.
